AboveNet Announces Top PHONE+ Channel Manager
Brian Sheehan takes honor for third year in a row

NEW YORK,-- October 20, AboveNet, Inc., (NYSE:ABVT) a leading provider of high bandwidth connectivity solutions, has announced that one of its managers, Brian Sheehan, has been chosen for the third year in a row as a PHONE+ Magazine Channel Manager of the Year for 2009.

PHONE+ magazine, a resource for the telecommunications indirect sales channel, recently announced the choice at the Channel Partners Conference & Expo in Miami.

These telecom professionals were nominated by master agents, subagents and independent agents and selected by a poll of PHONE+ readers and supporters Aug. 17-26. Winners will be profiled in the November issue and the results of this contest are available at www.phoneplusmag.com

Jay Bradley, President of master agent Intelisys, said, “Brian has done a great job putting AboveNet’s channel program on the map. He has assembled a great team, built solid upper management support for the program, and has been very responsive to our needs in the critical first years of our partnership. Brian is results-oriented and his success is a direct reflection of that. Thanks Brian and congratulations on the well-deserved recognition.”

“Every year, PHONE+ welcomes the honor of announcing the top channel manager winners. Hardworking channel advocates, like the ones on this list, are what keeps telecom’s indirect channel profitable and successful,” said Mike Saxby, group publisher for PHONE+.

Brian Sheehan has over 15years experience in the communications industry, and has held the Channel Manager role at AboveNet for 4 years. Mr. Sheehan is responsible for driving sales growth by developing and managing key strategic relationships.
