AboveNet Extends its Fibre Network Reach to New TelecityGroup London Datacentre, Powergate

LONDON, 8th April, 2008 - AboveNet Communications UK Ltd., a leading provider of fibre optic connectivity solutions for business and carriers and a subsidiary of AboveNet Inc., today announced it will be provisioning fibre connectivity to TelecityGroup’s new state-of-the-art datacentre facility, Powergate, located at Park Royal, London.

With its network reach already connected to the majority of TelecityGroup’s datacentres, AboveNet is ideally placed to support customer migration and expansion to Powergate. This in turn provides AboveNet customers another on-net location where their services can be delivered.

AboveNet’s diverse connectivity to the new facility will enable TelecityGroup customers to take advantage of AboveNet’s portfolio of services, including fibre optic infrastructure, Tier-1 IP Transit as well as a range of managed wavelength services. TelecityGroup Powergate will offer businesses a highly resilient, secure and scalable datacentre environment with access to multiple connectivity options.

With growth in data volumes and the increase in regulatory driven solutions for disaster recovery and business continuity, businesses are placing greater importance on the reliability, performance and efficiencies of the supporting datacentre and network. The combination of TelecityGroup’s ideally situated state-of-the-art datacentre and AboveNet’s fibre and network service expertise will enable businesses to benefit from both extensive hosting and connectivity options.

“With our commitment to staying ahead of industry trends and investing in the future of our network, we are extremely pleased to be expanding our fibre network reach to London’s newest datacentre, TelecityGroup’s Powergate,” said AboveNet’s sales director, Alan Berryman. “This connectivity serves to highlight AboveNet’s commitment to offering our customers the most comprehensive range of networking solutions to support current and future business requirements.”

Adriaan Oosthoek, UK and Ireland managing director at TelecityGroup said, “TelecityGroup datacentres provide a critical hub for the exchange and delivery of online content for enterprise and consumer applications. Powergate, which offers 4kW customer power per rack as standard, has been designed and built to support the mission-critical, content-intensive server infrastructure of organisations that require a highly resilient and secure datacentre environment and access to extensive connectivity options including LINX. We are delighted that AboveNet has recognised the opportunity available at Powergate, both for their business and the access it will give them to our future customer base. We are also pleased to offer our Powergate customers access to the AboveNet network.”
