AboveNet Announces dcXchange NYC/NJ Data Center Seamless Connections Offered NEW YORK, February 22, 2006 – AboveNet, Inc, a premier metro network access provider of custom fiber connectivity solutions, today announced the launch of dcXchange, a data center to data center service delivering high performance connections over a dedicated DWDM core network between prime locations in the NYC/NJ Metro. dcXchange is a pre-provisioned service delivering DWDM, SONET and Gig E connections for Enterprise, Carrier and Indirect Sales customers. Supported by AboveNet’s Global Network Management Center, dcXchange offer simplicity and unsurpassed flexibility to support a broad range of applications from media and expanding wireless to financial interconnection needs. dcXchange will be generally available in New York City on March 1, 2006 with follow on cities to be announced shortly. “The success of well known IP based content and information service companies such as Google and Yahoo delivering Location Based Services are driving carriers to seek innovative solutions to meet growing bandwidth needs and the aggregation of traffic that does not follow traditional patterns”, said John Deering, Director of Carrier Sales for AboveNet. “The virtualization of scarce collo space across the metro area is a key element of our offering”. AboveNet is targeting applications requiring high bandwidth, quick install times, and circuit portability for customers faced with the challenges of new technologies, shifting business climates and the increasing health of the general economy. “As enterprise businesses expand their networking requirements to meet new and challenging conditions traditional telecom solutions fall by the wayside”, said John Hanko Executive Director of Sales in New York City. “AboveNet’s solutions fill a needed void as the scope and scale of enterprise business applications grow in new and unexpected directions”. “Making core infrastructure services available to affiliate businesses through our Indirect Sales Channel ensures broader access to key locations necessary to meet the demand of new customers in the New York City Market”, said MaryBeth Nance, Director of Business Development.
