Everyones Internet Signs Multi-million Dollar Agreement With AboveNet For Metropolitan Gigabit Ethernet Services

World’s Largest Privately Held Web Hosting Company To Save 15 Percent By Avoiding Local Loop Connections

NEW YORK, July 20, 2004 – AboveNet, Inc., a leading global provider of private, secure, high-capacity optical infrastructure and services in the metropolitan area, announced today that it signed a two-year, multi-million dollar contract with Everyones Internet? (EV1), the world’s largest provider of dedicated server web hosting, to provide its Metro IP™ service to two EV1 data centers in Houston, Texas.

AboveNet will use multiple redundant Metropolitan Gigabit-Ethernet connections to enable high-speed bandwidth from its major point-of-presence in Houston to both EV1 data centers. The contract is expected to generate 15 percent in savings because EV1 will be able to completely circumvent the traditional carrier network and have immediate access to AboveNet’s tier one global IP network.
