Superior Engineering

AboveNet employs redundant core routers to ensure 100% uptime. High capacity customers are directly connected to the core routers. In turn these core routers are connected to multiple high performance Ethernet switches for distribution, with no port throttling, offering real bandwidth on demand.

This simple and redundant configuration allows AboveNet to provide outstanding reliability and performance. All customer connectivity options are flexible and scalable.

By deploying Juniper T640s, AboveNet has chosen a platform that enables virtually unlimited bandwidth with no sacrifice being made to either quality or security. The sheer power of these core routers allows AboveNet to remove a whole distribution layer of infrastructure, which in turn simplifies the network, removes potential points of failure and allows AboveNet to connect high volume customers directly to the core IP backbone (AS6461). The Juniper T640 internet routing node is the latest hardware designed for high speed IP connectivity. It delivers 640 Gbps of capacity and up to 770 million packets per second (Mpps) of throughput. This combination ensures that AboveNet’s customers continue to receive rapid connectivity and a superior internet experience.
